Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor

I believe that therapy is a place where you can build on your strengths, hone new skills, and explore your authentic self without judgement. I work to view my clients through the multi-facets of their lived experience and provide the external “nudge” that allows them to deepen insight and encourage personal growth. Using evidenced-based, non-judgmental practices, my goal is to collaborate with you on your journey of self-reflection and acceptance. Together we can pack your toolkit with usable skills so you feel confident to go forward and create positive change in your life.

I have been practicing professionally since February 2018.  I have worked with a variety of ages and issues including ADHD, ODD, anxiety, grief, mood disorders, trauma and adjustment disorders. I spent time working with youth in an intensive therapy summer program during my counseling practicum, including providing daily group therapy. During my internship in a group practice, I worked with individuals, couples, and families including court-mandated clients, trauma survivors, and children with intellectual difficulties.

My approach to counseling is person-centered integrated with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Family Systems Theory, and Play Therapy.  I will be a partner in facilitating your mental health and wellness through empathetic reflection, non-judgmental responses, and cultivating an environment where you are free to express your needs and emotions genuinely.  I incorporate CBT techniques and mindfulness to help clients create change in their lives.  I use play therapy techniques when working with children to better communicate with clients in earlier developmental stages.  Parents/caregivers play a key role in their child’s therapy and it is expected they will fully participate in the therapeutic process.  I also work with parents individually to address concerns in the family system that affect the mental health of their children.
