Marta Jackson, LPC
Therapist

My main driving force as a therapist is a firm belief we are all inherently good, strong, resilient and wise. Sometimes, we simply get lost, confused and overwhelmed with daily life challenges. We stop believing in our potential and courage. In those times, I see myself as someone who will listen to you with empathy, warmth and kindness, will hold hope for you and offer guidance through this complicated process of becoming whole again. My flexibility and personalized approach to address your unique needs and concerns is informed by effective research-based approaches paired with playfulness, creativity, respect and acceptance.

I have a graduate degree in psychology from a university in Poland where I am originally from, followed by a degree in counseling from MSU Bozeman. My career as a counselor officially began in 2010 as a provider in a non-profit organization in rural Montana even though I performed therapeutic work prior to enrolling in graduate counseling program. Since then I had an opportunity to provide services to children, adolescents and adults in individual, couples, family and group modalities. Throughout my career, I had a chance to work in a few non-profit organizations, school and more traditional outpatient office settings. With time, my passion for therapy and counseling only grew and strengthened confirming it as the right vocation for me.

Gaining experience with a variety of presenting problems, diverse populations, ages and modalities helped me realize I am particularly passionate about working with trauma survivors, LGBTQ community and people experiencing stress-eliciting transitions. I also have extensive experience working with all forms of anxiety, mood and self-esteem concerns. My practice is also strengthened by specialized training such as CBT, DBT, EMDR and other trauma-focused trainings.

Therapy not only can offer stabilization and regaining a sense of balance, but it can also foster further growth and self-actualization. I truly believe in holistic healing by integrating elements of cognitive, emotional, behavioral and somatic functioning to support lasting change. You may often see me suggest mindfulness strategies, discuss brain functioning and neurobiology to better understand where your reactions are coming from, or use elements of play, creativity and humor as a way of expression and healing tool. My integrative and individualized approach can help you become more self-aware and skilled in coping with life crises and long-term concerns, have a sense of improved relationship with yourself and others, and ultimately experience a better sense of overall wellbeing.

You have the right to choose a therapist who will be knowledgeable, professional, kind and attentive to your goals and needs. If you have a sense we would be a good fit, I will be honored to go on this journey of growth together.
