I serve children, adolescents and their families. I believe change/growth occur in a non-judgmental environment that provides a balance of challenge and support. All individuals have the potential for successfully meeting life’s day-to-day challenges. My primary goal as your counselor is to assist you in using the resources/strengths that you bring to the table in combination with appropriate therapeutic interventions to reach your goals. Sessions focus on self-awareness, choice, problem solving, and setting goals for the present and future.

I use an eclectic approach based on the following models: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Treatment, Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered Treatment, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, experiential techniques (including art and pay therapy techniques), Strength Based Therapy and Family Systems Therapy. Depending on your individual needs, I will use different methods of therapy.

My career in the mental health field began over 14 years ago. I have experience providing individual and family therapy and group therapy in a variety of settings. My experience includes working with children, adolescents, adults, and families in psychiatric hospitals, group homes and emergency shelter settings, a child advocacy center as well as providing outpatient therapy and intensive-in home services for children, adolescents and their families. Areas of experience include working with children and adolescents struggling with depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship issues, self-harm/SI, ADHD, adoption, anger management, social skills, behavioral problems, grief/loss and trauma/abuse. I also incorporate family therapy to assist families working through conflict, divorce, and provide support with implementing positive parenting skills.
