I believe all children and adolescents have the ability to process their complex world to discover their inner strengths helping them to live a healthier, happier life.  As a therapist my goal is to provide a nurturing and empathic environment where clients can discover their potential and feel safe to explore difficult life events.  I enjoy building therapeutic relationships with my clients and families and helping through the journey to a more fulfilled life.

Counseling and psychotherapy for adolescents
Family Therapy

Masters in Counseling Education, Virginia Commonwealth University
Bachelor of Science, Pennsylvania State University
I have over 15 years of experience working in public education, first as an elementary teacher and then transitioning to a position as a school counselor.  In addition to my school counseling work I have also provided outpatient therapy in a community mental health setting, working primarily with children and adolescents suffering from abuse and neglect.  I value my experience in both the school setting and agency as they provide unique opportunities to help children and adolescents reach their full potential.  I have experience working with children suffering from anxiety, mood disorders, anger management, behavior concerns, and trauma.  I use a variety of techniques to help clients and their families reach a more fulfilled life including play therapy, EMDR, educational training of the effects of trauma on brain development, attachment-focused family therapy (AFFT), and sandplay therapy.
